Dr. Spivak graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine in 1987.  He was awarded the Northeastern Periodontal Award for Excellence.  He completed an externship in Oral Surgery at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. during the summer of 1986.  He also completed an externship in Restorative Dentistry at the Albert Einstein Medical  Center, Philadephia in 1987. 

 

Dr. Spivak received a Bachelors of Science degree from Cook College, Rutgers University in 1983,  in the field of Food Science - Chemistry.  He served as a summer intern during 1982 and 1983 for the FMC Corporation, Food and Pharmaceticuals Products Division, located in Princeton, New Jersey.  At FMC, Dr. Spivak performed research and development, product assurance and product control with an FMC patented product called  Avicel, a form of microcrystalline cellulose.  His work was published in Food Research Journals in 1983.

 

Dr. Spivak practiced dentistry in the Rittenhouse Square area of Philadelphia from 1987 to 1989.

He practiced dentistry in downtown Washington, D.C, from 1990 to 1993.

 

Dr. Spivak relocated to Carlisle, PA in 1994 where he  took over for a retiring fellow University of Pennsylvania Dental School graduate, Dr. George Palmer.

 

Dr. Spivak has been located in the Belvedere Professional Center (formerly known as the Belvedrere Medical Center) for over 15 years. 

 

Dr. Spivak is a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Harrisburg Area Dental Society, Carlisle Dental Study Club, Susquehanna Dental Study Club and the Academy of General Denistry.  He is on the Advisory Board of Thayer Dental Lab and is an advisor for Becker Parkin Dental Company and a board member of the Toothbrush Company.

  

Dr. Spivak is a member of the Rotary Club of Carlsle, Association of the United States Army, Carlisle Chamber of Commerce, past board member and officer of the Carlisle Area Little League and the Carlisle Boy Scout Pack 189.

 

Dr. Spivak has coached Little League baseball, and YMCA basketball and soccer teams. Dr. Spivak is a fan and frequenly attends Penn State football games.  He is also a die hard Yankee fan and enjoys skiing and golf.

 

He and his wife Marjorie, a native of Hollidaysburg, PA reside in the Carlisle Borough with their three children, dog and cat.

 

Connie Weiss has been a registered dental hygienist for over 25 practicing in Carlisle with both Dr. Spivak and Dr. George Palmer.

 

Christine Plank has been a registered dental hygienist for over 10 years. 

 

 

Beth Hotovcin began assisting in l978 and has loved the profession ever since.  She has always tried to better herself by taking coarses when available.  She has taken assisting courses through North Carolina University.  In 2002 she received her Expanded Function Dental Assistant degree from Harrisburg Area Community College. She received a 4.0 in her studies.  She also completed an internship with a dental practice in the Harrisburg area.  Beth is on the advisory committee for the Cumberland-Perry Vocational Technical School in Mechanicsburg, PA

 

Amy King has been a chairside dental assistant for several years.  She enjoys working with people and has achieved the distinguished  OK Club award in 2009.

 

Connie Adams and Cindy Kinsey each have  over 25 years experience in the dental field with dental insurance, patient scheduling and treatment plan coordinating.  Connie has been with Dr. Spivak for over 14 years.  Cindy has been in the Carlisle and West Shore area for over 20 years.
